I'm a wife, a mom of 2 grown boys, each now married to wonderful girls, and a dog mom to 2 very energetic dogs. For 23 years, I ran a small daycare out of our home that allowed me to be home to raise our children, yet still contribute to our family finances. When I began to phase out of the daycare, I wanted to find something to do that could help people. That's when I began to seriously consider starting an organizing business. So many people told me this is something I should do, and maybe it was time for me to listen to them.
I've been involved in several organizations throughout the years in our boys' schools, our church, and our community. When you're a wife, a mom raising her family, and involved in so many things, it helps to be organized to keep all the balls in the air and your household running smoothly. I'm someone who likes to be organized, yet at times, my own home feels more like organized chaos. I needed to find a system and a way to organize that worked for me, not against me. Once I found that, areas in our home started to become more organized and stay organized.
I like to be organized; it brings me joy, whether it's with running a business, an organization, various digital files, or areas of my home. My family says I got that from my grandmother, who was also involved in different organizations and kept everything organized and flowing smoothly in her own home.
I want to help you organize your home or your business.
I want to help you find a system that works for you.
Did you know there is such a thing as an organizing style? Once you determine what your organizing style is, it makes organizing your home and keeping it organized easier. I want to help you find your style and a system that will work for you, not against you.
Once we determine your style of organizing and start implementing it, you and your family will realize your home can be a peaceful and calm place to be.
When I was deciding what I wanted the name of my business to be, my grandpa's words came to me. He said, "Always leave a legacy, no matter what you do." This is how my business became Legacy Elite Organizing. I want to help you leave a legacy for your family, not a mess.
My grandpa always said, "Leave a legacy in whatever you do". Those words come to me with every project I do.
I began my journey in childcare in 2002 when the company I was working for closed its doors and moved to another state. With baby number 2 on the way, we didn't want to move far away from family, but my income was still needed. Having an in-home daycare allowed me to be home with our boys, be available for them, and still contribute to our family finances.
For many years, I had a steady, active wait list of families wanting a spot in my daycare, until one day the list was empty. With the strong possibility that one of our daycare families would move and an empty waitlist, I knew this was the time when I had to trust God to reveal His next plan for me. With our children now married and knowing they will have their own families someday, I want flexibility in my schedule to be available for them if needed.
It's pretty neat to see how God shows you His plans. Ryan and I were talking with our oldest son one day, and he said, "Mom, just start an organizing business, we've been saying this for years, and you'd be good at it". Starting this type of business kept coming up in different conversations over the weekend. Ryan kept tossing around potential business names, but they weren't speaking to me, then grandpa's words came to mind, always leave a legacy. I started working on a name that lined up with Grandpa's words. In everything I do, I want to leave a legacy, so, grandpa, I'm ready to leave a legacy with this new adventure. Thank you for your wise words that have stayed with me throughout my life.
The people in this photo are why I want to leave a legacy, not a mess. I want them to remember me for my legacy, not a messy storage room or unorganized closets and other areas in our home that they have to sort through when I'm no longer here.
I want to help you leave a legacy for your loved ones, not a mess for them to go through later.
